Donald Pemrick began his career in the Entertainment Industry in 1980 as the Casting
Assistant on the feature film Annie based on the hit Broadway musical.  Working with the
legendary Director John Houston, Pemrick was responsible for the auditions of nearly 12,000 young
girls in ten open calls throughout the U.S. He then joined BCI Casting where Donald spent two
years with Casting Director, Barbara Claman learning the business and working on projects like
Seven Brides for Seven Brothers that launched the careers of River Phoenix and Richard Dean
Anderson.  From BCI, Donald joined Marc Schwartz Casting and his first opportunity to cast a
Prime Time Network Television Program.  The Show was Three's Company and at this time Donald
was the youngest Prime Time Casting Director for Network Televison.  He also worked on
numerous Movies of the Week starring the likes of Valerie Bertinelli, John Ritter, and Martin
Short. Next in his career was a staff position at Universal Television where Donald was the
youngest person to hold that position as well. During his two years with the Studio, Donald was
responsible for Casting Pilots and Series Television.  Those included such shows as Charles in
Charge, the George Burns Comedy Week and the Pilot that launched the series "The Equalizer".
During his time at Universal, Donald worked with such Actors and Directors as Steve Martin, John
Landis, Sherwood Schwartz, and Geena Davis to name a few.
By the mid 80's, Donald decided to stray from Television and pursue feature films. He joined Cannon films in 1985 and Cast five consecutive films for Cannon partners Menacham Golan and Yuram Melman . In 1986, Donald Pemrick Casting was formed and for the next two years the company would go on to cast seven independent films that would shoot all over the world including Africa and the Phillipines. In 1988, Donald's career would take yet another turn when he would move to New York City where he would spend the next 2 years working as a Consultant for NBC television. While at NBC his main purpose was to look for new and upcoming Talent for the Networks Pilots and Series. During his time at NBC, he would meet future stars such as Matt Damon, Adam Sandler, Matt LeBlanc and Marisa Tomei.
By 1990, Donald was back in Los Angeles working with a new Independent Film Company named I.R.S. Media, Inc. Formed by Miles Copeland and Paul Colichman, I.R.S. was one of the first independent film companies and presented Pemrick the task of over twenty-five consecutive films. Some of his highlights would be the cult classic, Shakes the Clown starring Bobcat Goldthwait and Adam Sandler, Siskel & Ebert's #1 Film of 1993, One False Move Directed by Carl Franklin and starring Bill Paxton and Billy Bob Thornton, and the twice-Oscar nominated film Tom & Viv with Willem Dafoe and Miranda Richardson. Also during his time at I.R.S., he Produced three films: December, a World War II drama starring Balthazaar Getty, Wil Wheaton and Jason London, and the Martial Arts Films Rage and Honor 1 and II starring Cynthia Rothrock, Richard Norton and Patrick Muldoon. I.R.S. Media enabled Pemrick to work with Studios such as Columbia/Tri-Star and Miramax, Showtime Original Films, and Producers such as Larry Estes, Raju Patel, and Mark and Peter Samuelson.
In 1996, Pemrick formed Ataraxia Entertainment Inc. dba Pemrick Fronk Casting with his then-Associate, Dean Fronk. The Company's approach is to handle an increased yearly average of feature films in an Actor friendly environment and it has provided three consecutive years of over fifteen feature films. The company most recently completed Universal Studios' Beethoven's III by Writer/Director David Mickey Evans, License to Steal an Independent film Cast by Pemrick/Fronk from their New York City office, and the sequel to one of the highest selling CD-ROM's of all time, Blizzard Entertainment's Diablo II.
