Dean Fronk began his career in the Entertainment Industry in the fall of 1993 when Breakdown
Services offered him a job as the field representative for the San Fernando Valley. He covered Walt Disney
Studios, Universal Studios, and Warner Brothers Studios for all television and feature films in Production.
The Casting Director contacts made while at Breakdown Services led to his meeting Casting Director,
Donald Paul Pemrick at I.R.S. Media Inc. I.R.S. Media had released One False Move the previous year and
had soon to be two time Academy Award Nominee Tom & Viv coming next. Fronk went to work as Mr.
Pemrick's Associate on six consecutive I.R.S. Media/Showtime films working with I.R.S. principals Miles
Copeland and Paul Colichman, Producer Seth Willenson, and esteemed Independent Producer Larry Estes.
While at I.R.S. Media, Fronk worked as a Casting Associate on a total of eight feature films. Fronk's first
Casting Director credit came in 1994 while working on the low budget feature, Crosscut starring Costas
Mandylor. Crosscut was shot on location in Northern California and was the first of the many location jobs
throughout Fronk's career. Fronk's last film for I.R.S. Media sent him to Ft. Lauderdale, FLA to cast the first
of three consecutive Miami/Ft. Lauderdale location films. Fronk's final film as a Casting Associate was the
Brylcreem Boys starring Bill Campbell, Angus McFadyen and Gabriel Byrne wich was shot on location in
the Isle of Mann.
In 1996, Fronk joined Donald Pemrick to form Ataraxia Entertainment Inc. dba Pemrick/ Fronk
Casting (PFC). Their approach was to handle an increased yearly average of feature films in an Actor
friendly environment while specializing in the overseas market and location ventures. Their first work
combined both aspects and a new one: children. Rudyard Kipling's the Second Jungle Book was filmed
on location in Sri Lanka and PFC handled a nation wide search for the lead role of Mowgli; finding him in
South Beach, FLA. This led to Fronk's first television series, Mowgli:The New Adventures of the Jungle
Book for Franklin/Waterman and Fox Family Channel. These endeavors extablished PFC in the children's
market. Fronk worked with Brad Krevoy, Steve Stabler, and Jeremy Kramer on four films for the M.P.C.A.
starting in 1996. The last was Breakfast with Einstein starring Priscilla Presley that was sold to the Disney
Channel as a Walt Disney Premiere. In 1998, Fronk cast the comedy Fakin' Da' Funk about an Asian teen
growing up in South Central. The film starred Duane Martin, Tatyana Ali, John Witherspoon, Nell Carter and
Pam Grier. It further highlighted the eclectic abilities of PFC. Ground Control, starring Kiefer Sutherland,
Kelly McGillis, Henry Winkler, Robert Sean Leonard, Margaret Cho and Kristy Swanson, showcase PFC's
abilities with an ensemble cast. PFC also completed six MOW's in Vancouver, Canada for the Family
Channel and Regent Entertainment's Paul Colichman and Marc Harris.
In three years time, Fronk cast on location in Ft. Lauderdale, Houston, New Mexico, and New York
City and cast leads for films in Bulgaria, Rome, India, London, and Chile. The ability to cast in North America
and abroad, a cohesive understanding of Producers, Directors, and Foreign Sales Agents, and an "open
door" policy to the Acting community has enabled PFC to cast over fifty feature films since its inception.
Pemrick/Fronk Casting is established in the marketplace as a multi-faceted organization that enhances the
creative process of Casting. Pemrick/Fronk Casting most recently completed Universal Studios'
Beethoven's III by Writer/Director David Mickey Evans for Universal, I'll Remember April starring
Academy Award Nominee Haley Joel Osment for Regent Entertainment, License to Steal an Independent
film cast from their New York City office, and the sequel to one of the highest selling CD-ROM's of all time,
Blizzard Entertainment's Diablo II.
